Will the radical left push Biden around after he wins?

Posted by John T. Reed on

I do not know about the notion that the radical left will control Biden if he wins.
.
Biden caved in a New York minute when he was negotiating Bernie endorsing him. But he has been shifting away from that recently. Is he strong enough to stiff them after inauguration? I see nothing in his life history to indicate that. On the other hand, he has never had executive power before in his life.
.
And the presidency may be like SCOTUS, a lifetime appointment for Biden. What power do AOC and Bernie have over Biden after the election? None. He will be president and he can fill his cabinet with Obama people and leave the radical left out in the cold if he wants.
.
If the radical left pushes him too hard, he can have them removed from the room.
.
Again, I am not forecasting that, just pushing back on forecasting the opposite. Biden needed the radical left’s acquiescence to take the lead in the campaign, but now it is too late for them to stop them. Those who depict the radical left as being Biden’s puppeteer suggest some sort of Svengali relationship because he is weak.
.
Some credit must be given to Biden for seeming to be on the verge of winning the presidency of the United States. Maybe somewhere in his gaffes and D-student brain and his “ability to F everything up” [as Obama put it] and being wrong on every single foreign policy decision and his family influence-peddling business, maybe he is a conniving politician who knows how to win the presidency in spite on having no visible means of supporting such an ambition.
.
He appears to be smart enough to recognize that all he needed to do was hide in his basement and let Trump beat himself and to have enough discipline to execute that strategy. Trump never got credit for being smart enough to win the presidency, in spite of having won the presidency. Shouldn’t the same logic apply to Biden if he wins.
.
He did recently say, “I am the Democratic Party” and “I defeated Bernie.” That may be a precursor of his telling them, “Thanks suckers” as he shuts them completely out of his White House,
.
The fact is he has the clear constitutional power after he wins to totally ignore the radical left of his party and Bernie and AOC have no power to do anything about it.
.
Biden’s health and Kamela have some power to XXVth Amendment Biden, but Biden can resist that. He can also take care to nominate cabinet members who are loyal to him rather than Kamela because the cabinet gets to vote on the XXVth Amendment.
