How to fix the presidential debates

Posted by John T. Reed on

My better format for the presidential debates, if they should even exist at all.
.
Each participant is in a different place connected electronically to a New York. When it is their turn, their camera and mic turn on and they can answer a moderator question.
.
When their time is up, their camera and mic turn off, in mid-sentence if they do not wrap it up in accordance with the countdown timer that they can see.
.
A judge like Judge Napolitano enforces my honest debate rules instantly with a button that shuts off the camera and mic of the person who breaks a rule. The judge is then on camera and mic and states the rule or rules that was/were just broken.
.

.
There would also be a fact-checker or team of them to instantly tryo to fact check any dubious statement. If they found it was not true, they would also have a button that would stop the debate and give the fact-checker the camera and mic to
announce the true version of the false statement made.
.
These debate set-up and rules would likely cause the candidates to refuse to participate.
.
That would be a good thing. The debates as they are now are a crock, a cluster.
