Zelenskyy may agree to never NATO and let them have the eastern provinces he stole

Ukraine President Zelensky now says he has cooled to joining NATO and he is willing to discuss letting Russia have two eastern provinces that they have been fighting over since 2014.

Both of these positions reward Putin’s misbehavior. That must never happen anywhere. If he is rewarded for these invasions, he will do it again. This got a name in 1938: appeasement. The Brit who signed it said it achieved “Peace in our time.” In the event, it got precisely 324 days of peace. On teh 325th day, Hitler invaded Poland starting WW II. The consequence of it was WW II in Europe which killed something like 60 million people.

Also, Zelenskyy sounds like he is going to lay down his arms in return for a promise from Putin that he will stop killing Ukraines. This is the same Russia that signed the Budapest Agreement.

‘In the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, the United States, Russia, and Britain committed “to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine” and “to refrain from the threat or use of force” against the country. Those assurances played a key role in persuading the Ukrainian government in Kyiv to give up what amounted to the world’s third largest nuclear arsenal, consisting of some 1,900 strategic nuclear warheads.’ Brookings Institution

How dumb do you have to be to sign an agreement with a country that signed then violated the Budapest Agreement?
