Will ‘Trump get us out of this?’ WE may get us out of this, but government will not.

Only real solution is to recognize the Wuhan virus as no more deadly than its sister the flu and reopen the country... President Trump listened to the deep state Dr Fauci science not realizing he was deep state... now he will get us out of this... just like he got us out of the Obama economy

John T. Reed repsonse: Trump worsened international trade stats compared to Obama. Trump improved the tax code and reduced regulation, both of which helped the economy although the diminution in international trade cancelled some of it out.

All of your phraseology is too broad including he will get us out of this. This is two things: an incurable virus that is highly contagious and for which there is no vaccine. Neither Trump nor anyone else is goin to get us out of an incurable pandemic. Remdesivir cures a small percentage, but Trump did not do that and will not become a medical researcher. If we get a vaccine, that will be unrelated to Trump. The whole world is working on it.

Someone shut the economy down. If it was governors, Trump did not protest enough. We are going to take around a $7T GDP hit which is the worst in history in dollars and even percentages. Trump at best acquiesced to the economic shutdown which is the worst economic policy in the history of the nation.

Trump has reacted to the mistakes by piling unprecedented new debt onto the national debt. Much of the damage done by the shutdown is permanent. Bankruptcies. Ending international economic relationships. Small businesses disappearing. Unemployment is not higher than the worst day of the Depression. Trump seems to think he can snap his fingers and everything goes back to the way it was.

Not true. China is really pissed and the US is talking about taking sever action against China. Setting aside all discussion of the right or wrong of that, China is a huge partner with American companies and breaking up that partnership, however warranted, will cause years of economic pain. Consumers worldwide have changed habits in a way that hurts restaurants and brick and mortar hard goods stores. It will take time to restore those habits and it may never fully happen.

The economy is not under the control of the president. And today’s globalized economy is not under the control of any national leader. Consumers and businesses are also not under anyone’s control.

Much of what has happened as a result of the shut down has surprised Trump and others. HE has been throwing our grandkids money at every problem. He threw so much at the unemployed that many now get more pay from the sum of unemployment insurance and our grandkids money that they refuse to go back to work. That was just plain stupid and made America worse off because that wasted money.

Trump is one of the causes of this mess and he has neither a great plan nor a way to execute one if he gets it later. he has made things worse with massive deficit spending and borrowing and his tariffs. Biden does not know what day it is so he would be worse. But the idea that Trump will get us out of this is childlike.

If e get out of this it will be because individuals and businessmen made their own common sense decisions that worked.
