The notion that you should own any bonds, let alone more as you age, is nuts in 2021.

Rebalancing is an issue investors seem insufficiently aware of. You ought to decide on what diversification you want in your net worth investment categories. A percentage for real estate, a percentage for stocks, and so on. Then you check from time to time because it gets out of whack. When it is out of whack, you sell the over percentage assets and buy the under represented assets. . A person I know showed me their 401(k) list of assets and the percentage of each. I told them to zero the US bonds, foreign bonds, and “emerging” nations. “Emerging” nations to...
Vaccinations need to be mandatory. The right not to be vaccinated is a right to infect the innocent with a deadly disease.

The claim that no one should be forced to get vaccinated seems to be near universal. The basic idea seems to be that Americans never required mandatory vaccinations. That is a barefaced lie. . And the basis now is alleged to be basic American liberty. That is illogical and arguably illegal. There are many laws like nuisance that prohibit you from doing something on your property that physically adversely affects your neighbors. The right to infect, which this new right could be called, is like the right to have a bonfire on your property, an ember from which burns down...
If we get hyperinflation, you MUST leave the US. The alternative is starvation.

On Facbook, I said if and when we get hyperinflation, you need to leave the country. . A reader said that is “unrealistic” and ruled it totally out. He is going to live off a stockpile out in the boondocks. . I would like to hear the proof that leaving the US is unrealistic. I spent years analyzing this including analyzing his solution and the leave solution. I have written I think 39 how-to books. Writing unrealistic how-to books is the equivalent of medical malpractice. . I think the reader’s issue is that he does not want to leave the country. ....
The Dem spending frenzy will lead to disaster
Posted by John T. Reed on
The Dems are going nuts with your grandkids' credit card. Biden is Uncle Sugar buying popularity with teachers, deadbeat college graduates, deadbeat tenants, grade school dropout illegals. . Come one, come all. The eviction moratorium has been extended another three months. It's unconstitutional some courts have agreed. But when the Supreme Court finally rules against it, I doubt they are going to give landlords a judgment they can collect. It will be a fait accompli. Biden will have bought votes by stealing apartments and bankrupting landlords. Very Soviet of him. . Now he also plans to let 1.14 million delinquent...
MLB balls are ridiculously, dangerously bouncy
Posted by John T. Reed on
Article about juiced baseballs in today’s WSJ. . When I coached Little League, I researched safety and learned that the balls were very unsafe. Reach had developed a much safer ball. It was called a Reduced Injury Factor ball. I interviewed the CEO of that company, an Annapolis graduate. . I persuaded my local league to use RIF balls in the games my team played in. Then, I outcoached the other coaches so visibly that one of them got angry and decided that I should be punished by forcing my team to play with regular LL hardballs. I think the...
