John T. Reed coached freshman, junior varsity, and varsity high school football for six years. He also coached youth football for nine years (ages 8 through 15). He coached youth baseball from tee ball to age 18 and was player manager of two semi-pro teams. Counting baseball, high school volleyball, and soccer, he has coached over thiry-five teams ranging from 5-year olds in tee ball to high school and semi-pro baseball.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association, the American Baseball Coaches Association, the National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association, the Football Writers Association of America, and the Professional Football Researchers Association.

Reed is a West Point graduate and a Harvard M.B.A.
